American Economy Getting Hammered: What Should You Do?

Due to the stupidity of political and business leaders in America, we are facing a depression.  Since I was a junior in high school in 2001, I have been telling everyone who would listen that the United States was going to tumble very hard if many policies weren’t changed.  Our government stuck its fingers into regulation and mucked up the stock market, housing market, job market and corporate governance.  Now they are trying to rescue it with bailouts, but that is only exasperating the problems.  However, neither I nor my readers can do anything on a macro scale to change the fundamental issues.  My goal in this post is to answer two personally important questions: what will happen next and how should I act in order to protect my life?

Thus far my predictions have proven to be unfortunately accurate, from calling the stock market collapse to even judging what college football teams would rank at the end of the year.  So what are my predictions for what the future holds for us?

• Unemployment will skyrocket over the next two years.
• Housing prices will continue to drop nationwide (though they will remain artificially high due to the government price supports for stupid people who should be foreclosed on).
• Marriage rates will increase as people find it’s cheaper and safer to partner up.
• Religions will gain a new foothold in many people’s lives as desperation becomes more common.
• Crime will increase greatly.
• Stability worldwide will decrease.  There will be more wars, more famines, more regime changes, and we are likely to see national boundaries radically change due to new alliances and aggressive warfare.
• 95% probability that weapons of mass destruction will be used somewhere globally in the next decade.  20% chance that they will be used on a scale causing more death than the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States in 1945.

What can you do to protect your life, family and interests?  How should you live?

• If you lose your job, sign up for unemployment benefits immediately.  Even though I do not believe in such programs at a macro scale, you should take every advantage possible.  After losing your job, take most work that is available to you, even if it is beneath your usual standards.  Keep applying and be aggressive about going in person.
• If you find a person who is stronger than you, partner up.  Do not partner with weak people as they will dilute your value (though somewhat reduce your risk).  I am the strongest person I know and am capable of carrying many people if necessary, but why harness myself to an ox cart when I can run towards my goals at a sprint?  I only intend to join value-added partnerships.  Not a very romantic way of looking at the world, but it will help you make decisions leading to a happier life.
• Purchase means of defense.  Most people will be fine with pepper spray or a taser, but those who are very responsible and willing to educate themselves should purchase firearms.
• Don’t build a bomb shelter, but keep extra food and water and first aid on hand in case of emergency.  You probably will never need it, but if you do you won’t regret it.
