Google Calendar and GMail Tasks: VERY USEFUL!
For a long time I searched for a good way to keep track of my to do lists and schedule. I tried using Microsoft Outlook, but it was far too slow and clunky to be useful, so I primarily used simple notepad lists and emails to myself to track my personal duties. Over the last three weeks though, I discovered the magic of Google Calendar and Gmail tasks.
Google Calendar is an online calendar that is very easily updated and can be viewed from any computer. Each time a meeting or task is scheduled to be done, you can set up either a pop-up notice that informs you that the appropriate time has come or you can have it automatically email you (my choice). The automatic emailing is very useful for me since I constantly have my email open on either my computer or iPhone. Using Google Calendar to schedule my time has begun to make me much more efficient in planning and executing my to do lists. I love it and strongly suggest that you give it a try if you ever find yourself looking for productivity management tools.
GMail tasks is another helpful tool that I have begun to use. It opens in a small chat window on your Gmail screen so that you can make lists of things to do. I use this for grocery lists and for certain tasks that don’t work as well in Google Calendar. I also suggest that you give this tool a try.
You can find the Google Calendar tool here. The Gmail tasks tool can be found here. Hope these tools help you as much as they have me!
