Mexican Monday Night Dinner

The weekly Monday night dinner was awesome last night.  When I walked in the door, I was met with a homemade margarita and seven happy people.  We have been doing it every week for fifteen months and the people are becoming like family.  There is a core group of us and then various people cycle through (friends and girlfriends), so there is usually fresh blood.

A new addition to our group, Dan- a chef friend of Ian’s- made great authentic Mexican food.  Dan is Mexican himself and grew up with that type of  food and now has added his professional experience and skill to his homegrown talents.  He and Ian actually made our chips and three different kinds of salsa in front of us.  The homemade guacamole was amazing.  The main dishes were enchiladas, tamales, and a bean dish.  Everyone brought various Mexican beers: Dos Equis, Tecate, Pacifico, even Corona.

We played the Mexican version of Bingo, Loteria.  I am now deeply in debt to the loan shark Plato… probably  gonna have to go into hiding soon.  If you don’t hear from me, call the police!
