For those of you who have been following my blog, you know that my flag football team went undefeated this season and won our first playoff game. Unfortunately, we were defeated in the semi-finals tonight. If we had won we would have gone to the championship game.
We lost because our quarterbacks threw two interceptions. In our flag football league, the offense has a decided advantage and you can’t make any mistakes like that in a playoff game. In my opinion, it is better to take a sack or try to run the ball then throw a risky pass that could be intercepted. Our other problem was that once we started facing some adversity, the guys on our team really got down on themselves and weren’t having fun anymore. I don’t like playing games with people who act like our recreational flag football team is a matter of life and death… we start a new season in two weeks for crying out loud. Anyways, next season we have the quarterback back who we had our first season in the league. He thinks he’s Brett Favre and heaves the ball as hard as he can ever time. I hope he’s improved since that first season and tempered his throws a bit or my fingers will be crying lol.
