Victoria Osteen, Wife of Joel Osteen, Allegedly Assaulted Flight Attendant
Megachurch Pastor Joel Osteen’s wife, Victoria Osteen, is accused of assaulting a Continental Airlines flight attendant named Sharon Brown on a flight from Houston to Vail, Colorado. Sharon Brown alleges that Victoria Osteen became incensed by a stain on her first class seat and threw her into a bathroom door and elbowed her in the left breast.
Victoria Olsteen has been sued for assault.
The lawsuit against Victoria Olsteen looks like it should be a pretty open & shut case since the FAA has already fined Victoria Olsteen $3,000 for interfering with a flight crew member. According to the report put out by the FAA, Victoria Osteen asked another flight attendant to clean a stain off of her first-class seat and when that attendant said she was going to go get another flight attendant to do so, Victoria Osteen grabbed yet another flight attendant and showed her the seat. The newest flight attendant said she would call the cleaning people and went to the cockpit, where Victoria Osteen followed her and then assaulted Sharon Brown. After allegedly assaulting Sharon Brown, flight attendants asked Victoria Osteen to leave the plane, which she and Joel Osteen did voluntarily.
Now that Victoria Osteen is getting sued, she and her lawyer are trying to get the FAA report thrown out of the court, saying “The FAA does in all due respect an incredibly incompetent investigation”. The lawyer for Sharon Brown said the FAA did an appropriately thorough investigation.

I have previously written a post on Pastor Joel Osteen, but his wife’s brazen assault on an airline stewardess just goes too far… Victoria Olsteen is on an airplane to go to Vail (legendary playground of the uber-rich) and she just cannot tolerate a stain on her first-class seat. After all, it might get on her expensive dress. The wife of America’s most popular pastor Joel Osteen shouldn’t have to tolerate a STAIN, right?! Joel & Victoria Osteen are a shame and embarassment on the Christian faith. Joel Osteen refuses to stand up for what he believes in (or perhaps doesn’t really believe in it at all!) and his wife Victoria Osteen is a snooty, stuck-up, rich baby. Not just a rich baby, but apparently a violent one too. Victoria and Joel Osteen are the perfect match: scam artist and vicious, pampered wife.

I simply don’t understand how 42,000 people in Houston attend Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church services each week when the leadership of Lakewood Church is so obviously terrible. Victoria Osteen should be cleaning toilets for a living and Joel Osteen should be selling cheap crap at local town fairs instead of put on a national pulpit to spew their filth.
Sharon Brown is also apparently having a difficult time getting a fair jury to hear her lawsuit allegations due to the fact that Joel and Victoria Osteen are nationally recognized figures and many potential jurors are fans of Joel Osteen’s television ministries.
I find it truly unfortunate that America has sunk to such a point that Joel Osteen and his degenerate wife Victoria Osteen are our foremost spiritual leaders.

The NYTimes.com wrote an article on the lawsuit today about Victoria Osteen revealing more details of the lawsuit. Victoria Osteen has been accused by Maria Johnson, one of Sharon Brown’s coworkers at Continental Airlines of even being racist. Johnson claims that Victoria Osteen barged past her and other black employees to go speak to the only white employee and that Mrs. Osteen was dismissive and abusive to Mrs. Brown because of her race. Sharon Brown also called a psychologist, Shayna Patrice Lee, to testify and she said that Sharon Brown suffers from major depression and PTS because of Victoria Osteen’s demeaning and humiliating behavior. It sounds to me like Sharon Brown is reaching a little bit in her claims, but I hope this knocks Victoria Osteen’s overblown ego back into Earth’s atmosphere. What do you readers think? Is Victoria Osteen racist? Was racism a factor in Victoria Osteen’s actions?

It is interesting to see how many people are just deceived by “charlatans†like the Osteen’s. I am not surprised with the behavior coming from these televangelists. It just shows what they really are. They are just regular sinners like any of us. The problem comes when people and media elevate them to the pinnacle. The fall could be disastrous. You are so right when you said that Victoria Osteen should be cleaning the toilets. We are called to wash other people’s feet and not to treat people bad because they don’t have high status (like the Osteen’s. Their behavior proved it) neither to get fancy cars, luxurious houses, fancy dresses, etc. That’s what this world offers and it is so easy to miss the point, which is to live the life that Jesus told us to live. That is, if you are a Jesus’ disciple. Joel Osteen never confront ate people with sin. He just tells people to live their lives at their best potential, and try to be good. Osteen’s wife is pathetic, hypocrite, and arrogant. I feel bad for the people who have to work next to them, in other words, their servants.

I can care less of Osteens in this situation… I got to tell ya, these flight attendants are way out of control. I read the wire on this event and I actually could imagine from my own experinces what these flight attendandts are willing to do. You see, since 9/11 they have been given this undefined and unchecked power. They are rude in the name of safety, they yell, snip, glare, and belittle in the name of safety. The airlines do not care about customer service, which sets the tone to the rest of the employees. I am suprised there isn’t some kind of boycotte to the Continental over this event.
I hoping the Osteen’s are cleared, only becuase of the abuse I and most passengers endure while flying these out of control airlines.

This is a terrible disgrace. It seems easy to see that this flight employee is just trying to squeeze the orange till its dry. I mean come on suing for mental distress and claiming its a racially motivated issue, it seems to me that the racially motivated edge comes from the attendant. Wow doesn’t it seem to be popular to yell race when your not White!! I pray for justice for the Osteens.

This to me just doesn’t seem right. Why is she trying to get 10% of the Osteens net worth? An apology, I can understand. And If Mrs.Osteen assualted her then she has the legal right to press charges and take her to court. But I dont see why she needs to have 10% of the Osteens net worth even if she suffered all this physical, phycological, and emotional damage that she is claiming to. And she put race into it, which makes me feel like money is her main agenda. As a flight attendant i’m sure she’s dealt with alot of people’s attutides, requests, and demands. Why doesn’t she sue them for a tenth of their entire financial worth?!

I disgusted that a preacher’s wife would be traveling first class with a pompous attitude. She admits that she was livid over a little spill. That is not in dispute. She was escorted off the plane and the flight held up for two hours. All this the preacher’s wife was traveling first class and there was some spilled coffee.
The only bigger hypocrits than religious people are their leaders. She’s crying over spilt milk while they preach to the “poor” from the pulpit of arrogance. How disgusting. It’s sad to see so many sheep support their lifestyle. What would Jesus do?

The flight attendant, Sharon Brown, who launched the false law suit against Mrs. Osteen to get money she doesn’t deserve, says the incident ruined her life. However, now that she has been exposed as a fraud, it would be poetic justice if as a result of her greed and dishonesty, she gets her life ruined now. She should be prosecuted, and sent to jail for making this false claim.

I have no doubt the assault happened. If there was any racism, it was on the part of Victoria Olsteen, and sadly money and influence (and a good amount of lying/acting) can get most people off any accusations. She was upset because the black flight attendants did not ‘jump’ to her commands/demands to clean the ‘mess’ up in the 1st Class seating fast enough-point blank truth. She refused to converse any further with the black attendants and went to a white one (who testified against her and was accused by Victoria and Joel of ‘not remembering the incident correctly). If ‘nothing’ happened as the Olsteens have claimed, the FAA would not have fined them $3,000.00 for the refusal to heed to the commands of the attendants (who are in charge on a aircraft) and they would not have paid the fine if they felt they were in the ‘right’. They got by with this ‘lie’, and sometimes truth takes time to come out, but it will eventually.

I have read over and over your ignorant comments about Joel Osteen and his wife and cannot fathom why anyone has such a grudge against such a Godly and inspiring man, who if you got your facts right DOES NOT ask for or mention money in ANY of his television programs AND who mentions God and quotes scripture in every single sermon he preaches. In his book that you bash also–God is mentioned on every single page AND scripture is quoted. Who are you listening to and whose book have you read because it certainly isn’t Joel Osteen!!! Why would anyone have such a grudge and hate for a Godly man who has helped so many people and who preaches such a positive and encouraging message??? Probably because you must have such a miserable life yourself and are so so NEGATIVE that you can’t stand to see someone who is uplifting, positive, and happy!! However, I think that the Osteen’s are very nice people and they have contributed so much to the poor and ordinary people. I have “Your Best Life Now” for quite some time now, gathering dust in my library. I will read this, see what GOOD Joel has to offer, what IMPROVEMENT his talk can bring and adapt it. Not all people can walk their talk, more so the people around them. Their talk serves as an ideal, a goal or model we all strive and aspire for even though we might stumble often. We have to keep going on the path even if we stray at times, for we are human. There are facets to our character that are not always in tune with what we profess to say or teach. Imperfect though we are, we have to keep going and look for what is good in life. It is the SONG not the SINGER that really matters.

I am sorry that the flight attendant couldn’t see her own needs in this. I also would love to hear the other side of the coin. Victoria’s description to what she thinks it happened. obviously there is a lot of money involved, and it is tempting for the poor in spirit and pocket, to see a money avenue. it is sad that things cannot be talked to. I really don’t have much Faith in the media anymore. They are always so quick to jump on the trash and make everyone look like the worst possible people. Is it our fault? Do we constantly want the dirt on everyone. If you have ever watched a sermon from the Olsteens, you would see possitive, uplifting and strong values. Since I am in Atlanta and they are in Houston I can say that I have never met them, but I know there ministries have been a blessing to me. Remember people are not perfect, we all are falling short of the Glory of God. The fact to me that they left the plane volunterily says to me that they were removing themselves from a bad situation. I too have heard that Ms. Brown has tried to suet other wealthy passangers before. I have also experienced some rude flight attendants. What would you have done in that situation?

I totally respect the Osteens to the fullest. It was one sunday morning that I was watching Joel preach that I decided to get back in church. A serman about forgetting the past and moving on to better things in the future. I beleive that is what should be done in this case. Forgive and move on . God is good , all the time. All of these comments make for interesting reading – and what I think is that we should remember that there are alot of different people out there and each has his/her personal “yardstick” for what’s good, bad, or acceptable or not. No one is going to be “OK” with EVERYONE.
But as I hear about and view various “Preacher Types” on TV, in person, or “through someone,” I think about what exactly the entire point is – and if alot of these folks are really doing good or harm?
I am a Christian, and I believe in God and His Son, and I believe His Son came to us to help ALL of us to Love one another and help each other to survive this portion of our lives in preparation for the next. I believe THE MESSAGE was to help each other – share – care about and support each other – because we ALL have to “pass the ultimate test” to receive our reward in Heaven.
With this in mind – I have heard about TV Preachers like Joel, and “most if not all” appear to always have GREAT/EXPENSIVE looking clothes, the “$100.00″ haircut, and the jewelery that looks like it could be used for a down-payment on a house. And they ALL seem to be traveling somewhere – in THIS country and the World.
What’s the deal? If they are TRUE CHRISTIANS, shouldn’t they be helping their members and their neighbors? Don’t you think they know some folks who don’t own a home on the golf course, drive around in their Mercedes convertible, and enjoy many GREAT benefits? Especially now – there are MANY Christians and non-Christians that are being Foreclosed on, and having trouble feeding their families and filling their gas tanks, wait till winter heating bills come! I don’t think these Preachers have to travel abroad to find needy, and the cost of flying in their own private jets could feed a whole neighborhood for a month!
So much to say – so little time to say it! In conclusion – I’m a real fan of helping each other as best as you can. If you’re living in luxury, and the funds are coming from folks in need, these days, you’re either a TV Preacher or a politician! I think both will have a VERY TOUGH TIME when they hit the Pearly Gates!

Just because we are Christians doesn’t mean that we don’t get upset. We are not in heaven yet. We are still here in earth dealing with a lot of people with different attitudes and it is not easy. Only the Lord Jesus was perfect. Even the Lord Jesus got upset when He went to the Temple and saw people selling staff. The Word of God declares that we can get angry as long as we don’t sin. Maybe Victoria went a little too far, because she is too fancy. But we are supposed to give good testimony on who we are in Jesus. Be humble because we all have 1 thing in common and is that we are all going to die. And people who exalt themseves, God humble them and embarass them. All she needed to do was just go the the restroom and get a wet wipe or napkin and do it herself. Jesus says that we are here to serve and not be served. God is good and all we need to do when we make mistakes is to bow down, surrender to the Lord Jesus and repent, and go on and no sin no more.

Sharon Brown was just out to get money. Victoria was found NOT GUILTY by a Jury of peers and I believe Justice WAS served! Sharon Brown had tried to sue another person who was unlucky enough to be on her flight a few years prior to her suit against Victoria. She was trying to sue for 10% of the Osteen’s net worth – - that’s just plain crazy. For supposedly being pushed, ha! This was a flight attendant that just looked for people she thought had money so she could be rude to them in “hopes” of winning a law suit against them. I’m surprised the airlines kept her employed after her FIRST wrongful lawsuit. I know I’ll never fly that airlines if that is the type of people they employ. Sharon had the nerve to try to play the race card – - that really makes me made. Joel and Victoria have a wide range of races that attend their church weekly. They love all of God’s people no matter what race they are. God Bless you Joel and Victoria – - keep spreading the word of God and putting hope into peoples hearts.

First of all, we don’t know the real story. It almost sounds like a set up to collect some quick cash. And as far as being racist, Joel’s best friend is black. People look at something like this as winning the lotto. So much for being an airline attendant…I am going to sue someone and never have to work again!! Ridiculous. To be fair, if there was actually an assault, then there should be repercussions….but 10 percent of someones wealth? Gold digging at it’s best.

Can we all just get a grip please? I mean the woman is obviously stuck up. Ok so there was a stain…big deal did you have to go to the great lengths of disrespecting another human being because you have lots of money and the accomodations aren’t up to your ritzy standards? I understand first class tickets cost a great deal of money but with as much money as they have it is really just small change. Put a towel over it and talk to the SUPERVISOR when you land or before the flight. I do agree that trying to get 10% of a multi millionaire’s net worth is ridiculous. That was just stupid…I agree it does sound like she is in it for the money. On the other hand being a pastor’s wife, you should have enough sense not to make such a dramatic scene especially in regards to a stain. I don’t see what the big deal is about these two….why can’t people see that all they are are scheme artists. If you are a pastor then talk about JESUS…and one last thing where are all the crosses????

Victoria Osteen was fined $3000 by the Federal Aviation Administration for interfering with a flight crew. She paid the fine.
The Osteens should have never let this incident go to trial. Joel Osteen should have just cleaned up the spill and apologized to the flight attendant. No one would have ever even heard about it.
A little humility on the part of the Osteens would have made this whole thing disappear.
Oh, and the Osteens have been taking 10% from poor people to build their empire for decades.

I wish people would just grow up. sounds like to me someone has it out for the osteens. just because they are doing great in life does not mean they are bad people. If people would read the bible and live it they would have just as much as the osteens. i believe that the osteens are doing great in there life and there walk for the Lord. I wonder who the raciest may be. Would there be a lawsuit if Ms. Osteen was say Ms. Smith? If it was being tried in criminal court I would give the situation merit but in fact it is in civil court. Not a criminal matter. The fact she was fined is because she ticked off a crew member. Frankly since the cabin crew was given more authority (after 9-11) I find them to be rude often and many have forgotten that they are in a service industry they are not small town cops. I would guess when Ms. Osteen asked to have the stain dealt with Ms Brown was snip or perhaps even rude in her hurried pre departure state of mind as I have experienced personally recently. If it were not for the Osteens success my guess is that there would be no civil action. Ms. Johnson may just be tired of cleaning stains for paying customers and choose to retire on the Osteen’s ticket.

Pride, Hubris, Ego, Dogma. All are merely words for Selfishness and describe the largely narcissistic attitude that, “I’m right so I get to go to heaven, but you’re wrong, so you’re not.” What kind of uninformed, isolated fool honestly still believes that they have been so blessed by either pure dumb-luck to have been born into; or circumstances to have been surrounded by; or mere fate to have blithely stumbled upon, “the only right way to salvation” – everyone else be damned. What small minded baboons still believe that there is only one way? Can’t you see how each sect even within “your way” amended its beliefs to appease the constituency of it’s time or leaders – or are you simply ignorant of its severe changes? Does it make you feel stronger, more powerful, more entitled or superior to feel your way to be the only way??? My guess is yes, probably, and there’s mountains of psychological and sociological evidence to support this phenomena – otherwise you’d have to share “the way” with another message, messenger, or form of greatness, and that would rock your smallness to its core (or the priests/kings who made the rules you blindly accept). Saying aloud, “I don’t know for certain… but I have strong intuitions and beliefs” makes you stronger, not weaker – and it certainly makes you a more loving individual.
If you want to see something which will not only build, reinforce, and justify your faith (no matter its source) watch the 12-hr series, “The Power of Myth” by wise sage and scholar to many a minister and professor, Joseph Campbell. You will realize what your intuitions have been telling you all along – that the duality, the duplicity, the metaphoric symbolism of the simultaneously beautiful and horrific (make God angry and he floods the earth kids and all) allegorical Bible tales, create a truthful-hypocrisy (love your enemy, but turn to salt for looking upon God??) which can split into 200+ sects within 2000 yrs of the Christian story alone.
C’mon folks. Get out of your rut – get over yourselves and your prejudices. Read more from sources and thinkers outside your current dogma. Not doing so is Slothful, Prideful, and Not even loving of your neighbor… and it’s just plain foolish. You may, in fact, be reinforced in your previously held views… but I highly doubt it. Expanding our little brains is a one-way trip, we will never return to exactly the same small town from which we departed but rather, we become acquainted with a grandness and mystery that we always knew was larger and more amazing that even those who came before us had been able to see.

I am not sure what happen, every story has 2 sides. I watch Joel every Sunday, it makes my week, and his joke always makes me laugh.
I came on here trying to get the 4 series of Hope but could not find it and this pops up.
I know the picture of her with her Eyes bugging out, talks of something not right.
But who are we to judge, we are not God. I have seen looks on her face when Joel is preaching at times and the camera catches it.
I have thought to myself, she has an attitude of being to good.
But I can’t judge her since I don’t know her. But I do hope that what happen on that plane takes care of itself, or maybe already has. If it did happen, I feel for Joel to have to go through what she did, it does not make good for him as a preacher.
I do have to watch him every Sunday, for the words he preaches, I thank God for them, they have touched my life in so many ways.

Just for ONCE I’d love to see those airy-fairy preachers and their pampered princess wives get squeezed in a coach seat on a nine-hour trip, sandwiched between a puking baby and an obese person who takes up half their seating space. Nowhere to stretch out when you’re tired, and it’s hell on your varicose veins when you’re taller than five-foot-four. Those rich preachers and their spoiled rotten wives make me SO sick! That selfish, snobbish, Jezebel will answer to God for the contempt she has shown toward poor working stiffs (Isa.3:15). The prophet Amos thunders against women like today’s skinny “fat cows of Bashan” are in for a rude awakening from God when their fairy tale comes to an ends. Instead of beauty there shall be the burning of God’s judgment and instead of sweet perfume a stink (Isa.3:16-26).

Ok I find all of this very interesting. You have Joel who thinks he is God’s messenger to the world. And you have Victoria who stands there acting all bubbly. My mother bought the Cd’s Become A Better You. After she bought them she started playing them in the car. since then she never has taken them out. She is forcing us to listen to him speak. I mean don’t get me wrong it was ok to list to them the first couple times. That was almost 6 months ago. She has fallen on th bandwagon with this bull shit that the great Joel is preaching. I cant satnd it. The man is a scam artist. Just look at him. Now tell who in the world can smile like that all the time? Can someone answer that for me please. I want to know. What does he not ever get mad at anyone? I mean we should leave them alone about the law suit. But he is scamming all of you people who believe his world is the tell and know all. He is Just some guy trying to make a buck. Now when his father started the ministry he probably didn’t know that it would get this big. He probably thoughtit would be about average size. But not like this. Okay now if Joel and the Barbie doll wife of his flyed coach instead of first class all the time and lived in a normal community and thier kids went to public school and they lived like regular people then maybe I would believe that he was doing this for God. But he is only in it for the money. He talks about eating out all the time and flying first class all the time. Why does he think people want to hear about him and the fancy restaurants that he dines at. I don’t. Do you? First and foremost, yes the seat should have been clean. But, no doubt anyone who has worked at a job where cleaning is a necessity have missed things. But looking at the big picture, should she have acted the way she supposedly did?? Me personally, I would have politely asked it to be cleaned up, and even if the flight attendant refused, was it her job to ensure this in the first place?? Should she be blamed for an oversight on another party? If that being the case, Victoria, obviously acted inappropriately (excuse my spelling)I live in Houston and I have attended their services, I consider myself a good Christian, but did not get the full satisfaction from the sermon as I usually would from a less popular Church. With that said, I think that all should be treated equally regardless of 1st class, 2nd class or even 3rd class given the option. Yes we pay more for 1st but it does not give anyone the right to belittle those that are not as fortunate. She should face the same consequences as any one, for what she has done, if proven in a court of law, leaving her status quo behind and living up to her mistake…before the eyes of god we are all the same…what makes her any different????

they do there job right (clean seats) I am not ashamed to say I have cleanned many dirty rooms, toliets and large homes and it is expected of me to do my job right…after all some one is paying good money to be assured that all is clean. Leave the Olsteens alone…if you do not get the message of God than dont bother to watch him on TV…it is up to ALL of us as christians to read the bible pray to God and ask for forgiveness from our own sins…stop judging others its not our place… .Glory to god in the Highest AMEN

I just read this in which you called what Joel Osteen preaches “spewing filth.” You also called his wife a degenerate! I have been watching Mr. Olsteen for quite some time and read his books. EVERTHING he preaches is backed up by scripture in the Bible. That leads to the conclusion you consider The Bible “filth.” Oh, by the way = Ms. Olsteen was cleared of all charges. Witnesses on tthe plane – other passengers said the assualt never happened. The accuser on the witness stand admitted NO Dr.s found ANY physical problem or ailment due to the altercation. She delayed counseling, etc. This is a case of a woman seeing an opportunity to make money. It was revealed she had pressed similar charges way before regarding another passenger. The prejudice and hatred exhibited by you and other comments here is appalling. I did not make a decision about this incident until i got ALL the facts. It is obvious this alleged assualt never happened. You jumped to conclusions and convicted with your hate before even hearing the evidence or lack of. It is amazing how so many people here immediately ASSUMED this woman filing charges was telling the truth without hearing any evidence at all. All of you want to hate the Olsteen’s so much you just decided she was guility before proven otherwise. Listen up, people, she was cleared of these charges – the evidence demanded that be so. It was NOT because the jury was prejudiced towards the Olsteens. Ms. Brown just wqanted MONEY from the Olsteen’s. That is painfully obvious now.

I can’t bring myself to understand it am all confused it’s like a wake up call. I spent most of my sunday morning listening to his surmmons and one time i even question myself course i have never heard him quoting the bible. I have to admit that i like his surmmons alot, i even stop going to church course i didn’t want to miss the preaching, may be he is a jew thats why he is not mentioning the name of christ he only believes in God. Conserning his wife she go to behave herself, once you are merried to a man of God, you must let go off all your bad tempers. Let her pray that God help her, but she got to own up of her mistake. I have always been an admirer of Joel Osteens; Ministry, however, only Joel inspirers me. Victoria, your
attitude is very understandable about the spot on the seat, but you are required to be mature
about it, that was your test, for example after bringing it to the attendants attention; couldn’t
you have asked her to kindly clean it up so that it would’nt soil or stain your attire instead of
embarrass yourself and Joel and create a violent production and unfavorable publicity. People
do think that you are spoiled and now think secondly of you because of the incident. Think
before you act!!

That “or baby Jesus will cry” on your site has got to go! Everything else makes sense. Even though V. Olsteen may not have the humility we would love to see in a ’spiritual’ person, I’m not surprised she showed this side of her personality. I for one, think J. Olsteen is a reeeely sweet person but don’t expect perfection since he is not immortal. These news articles do get our attention away from our worries, don’t they. Keep ‘em going- they bring us back to the real world!

I dont doubt that some people in the church are capable of such conduct. I am a Christian. I doesnt surprise me that Victoria Osteen
can act that way. I dont excuse her behavior. I think, buy my careful observation, that she has an “I am better than you attitude”
I mean she is the annointed of God!, right. And she lives with the illusion that everything is supposed to go Her way.
But….would Jesus act that way. I dont think so.
She is a very poor example of what a minister of God should be….like the pope.
But what her husband says in his sermons is very Christlike and I think his preaching is terrific.
We must remember that we are all sinners and have fallen short on many occasions. And the higher we are or think we are means the farther we fall.
Her behavior should not be excused, but her husbands preaching should not be questioned because of her in excusable behavior.
She’ll probably pay for this one for the rest of her life.
