WordPress Publish Ahead of Time Error

I found an error with WordPress this week. WordPress has a great feature that allows you to schedule posts to come out whenever you wish. For instance, I can write a post and schedule it to be posted tomorrow morning at 8am. The post will remain in a queue until then and will go live on it’s own at 8am. I don’t know of any other CMS-style platform that allows for this, so I was not surprised to find an error with it. The error is two-fold: it doesn’t update your categories on the side and it also does not ping the search engines and feedreaders. This is really bad for bloggers who get most of their traffic from search engines because the search engines don’t know about the new post.
